Driver’s License

Driver’s licenses are issued by the States and are governed by State laws. In order to get a driver’s license in most States in the United States you need to have a valid status whether it is B1,B2, F1, H1, H4, etc. However some states such as California, there is a law where even undocumented workers are eligible to obtain such a license. Some people who are actually waiting on their pending change of status or extension of status sometimes find themselves no able to obtain a drivers license. As such they sometimes rely on the California new laws to obtain their driver’s license. It is important to avoid such a measure unless necessary because it creates a confusion on the database of the DMV (Department of Motor Vehicle) which is issuing the license.
